Hunting
Since 2008, Wilderness Ranch has enhanced its 6,500 acres of private land with a Quality Deer Management program, producing exceptional bucks. Surrounded by the Huron National Forest, we offer a safe, enjoyable hunting experience with limited hunter numbers and strategically placed blinds for prime whitetail opportunities. All hunters must lodge on-site, and our hunting coordinator, Tom Proctor, will help find the right group for you. Stationary hunting is required for large game, and staff can assist with tracking, retrieval, and field dressing. Bird hunting is by special permission, with hunting dogs allowed during designated seasons.

Fishing
With five lakes to choose from, including Shamrock Lake, Lake David, Island Lake, North Lake, and Gooseneck Lake, you'll find plenty of fishing opportunities. Each lodge has its own dock and two rowboats, with boat motors and fuel available for rent. Fish cleaning stations are provided at each lodge and at Shamrock Lake’s boat launch.
Fishing Rules & PracticesGuests must follow Michigan’s fishing regulations and avoid using live minnows or wild-collected aquatic species as bait. Catch and release is encouraged to support sustainable fishing - please limit what you keep to what you can eat in one day. Minimum sizes requested: 18" for bass and 34" for northern pike.
Please thoroughly wash and allow all boats, motors, and trailers to dry for at least 5 days (two weeks preferred) to prevent the spread of invasive species.

Sky Watching
If you're passionate about astronomy, Wilderness Ranch is the perfect spot for you!
We’re located in one of the two darkest sky areas in Michigan’s lower peninsula. On a clear night, the sky is filled with stars, and you can even see your shadow cast by the Milky Way!
